There is a small plastic sheep lost in the classroom somewhere and it is our mission to find him. How do you think the sheep might be feeling? (think, pair share)
Lets find the sheep so he doesn't have to feel that way any more. In your reading groups I want you to discuss the following questions; How did you feel trying to find such a little item in such a big classroom? Have you ever been lost? How did you feel? In what ways can people be lost? We are all precious to God and we might be come lost, and God wants to bring us back into his loving care. How should we feel towards God?
We are now going to watch a video about a Sheppard who went looking for his lost sheep, like what we have just done.
Why do you think the Sheppard went looking for that one sheep when he still had 99 in the paddock? He had a big celebration when he brought the sheep back. If God brings us back into his loving care I wonder if there would be a celebration like this in heaven. In your reading groups I want you to think what would happen if we were lost and God brought us back. We are going to create a small play in our groups and you can practice them over the week and next week we are going to watch everyone's performances and listen to everyone's ideas.
